Google Classroom

Google Classroom, hopefully we get to know eachother better!

Welcome Back to my struggles with technology! This week I was introduced to Google Classroom, I have used it before, but it was even more confusing back then! I finally had the opportunity to use Google classrooms and figure out how it works. I was given the task to create an assignment of my own and of course, that was a struggle. Eventually, I was able to create an assignment and hopefully my fellow classmates are able to view it.
I remember when I was in grade school, my teachers would put on a video and have questions that pertained to the video, and it was always my favorite type of assignment. So, I decided to create my assignment based off of those assignments from my past schooling experiences. I looked up a crash course video over psychology and created questions based on the video.
I look forward to using Google Classroom in my future classroom because it allows students to have access to their assignments on an online format. We are steadily moving into a technology based world, so having online assignments gives students a greater amount of access to their schooling. One way that Google Classroom would not be such a positive, is because the internet is not as accesible to everyone, everywhere. Technology is not consistent, and changes constantly. I enjoyed this educational app because it allowed me to create my assignment and share it with my "students" very easily and allows me to see their results instantly. I also enjoy the fact that I am able to play around with this form of technology before I actually get into a classroom, so that I will have an idea of how it works.
I had a really hard time understanding how to put a google form in with my assignment. I wanted to add a quiz in with my assignment because I thought it would be easier for my students to fill out the assignments. I later figured out that I could add it on at the bottom of the screen. One aspect that I enjoyed is that I could chose the correct answer, so that it would automatically grade the submissions for me. I wish there was a tutorial on how to use google classroom, because I genuinly believe that this app is beneficial to teachers, it is just complicated at times.

  2. I totally understand your struggles with Google Classroom! However, I do think we should look at it as a positive aspect rather than a negative. This allows students to have access almost anywhere and anytime.
